Wonder Woman Revealed

The first picture of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman (see below) in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has been released. The costume is in a similar gritty style to Ben Affleck's Batman costume that was recently revealed. They're putting an emphasis on the warrior aspect of the character, with the costume drawing comparisons to the costume of Xena. Its been well received so far on the Internet, seemingly getting more positive buzz than the reveal for Henry Cavill's Superman costume and the new Batman costume. I'm seeing the word "badass" tossed around the most, which has to make everyone involved in the film smile. The brown looking color is something new, as we're used to the red/blue/gold look. It works in this setting though. The sword is an awesome addition. Besides the sword, you can glimpse the traditional lasso that Lynda Carter typically used in the 70s TV Show on the side of her waist.

There have been some comments that Gadot should have bigger muscles, but you can see she has certainly been working hard and has packed on some muscle compared to when she was announced in the role. And let's be real...these are superheroes from other planets who are supposed to naturally be strong, with or without big muscles. We can suspend belief for a fictional movie where heroes can fly. So calm down, nerds.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released on May 6, 2016 and serve as a launch for a Justice League movie. Aside from the introduction of Wonder Woman to the fold, Aquaman (Jason Momoa) & Cyborg (Ray Fisher) have also been announced, though in minor roles.

Justice League Movie Confirmed

DC Comics is trying to catch up to Marvel's mega hit "The Avengers" by making a "Justice League" movie right after filming is complete on "Batman vs. Superman". That film will introduce some of the characters, obviously Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck) as well as Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).

Not much else is known about the Justice League movie yet, although Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will apparently be in it as well. The original Justice League consisted of Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter, with numerous characters added in years following. No word if they'll look to go with just the original lineup, or add in a few more as well. It looks like Cyborg will be included, so maybe they'll change it up a little.

Another interesting factor is if they would bring in Arrow (Stephen Amell) from The CW's popular show "Arrow", which had been floated around before.

A Wonder Woman movie would follow the Justice League film depending on the success of it. We can assume it'll most likely make a ton of money even if it gets a lukewarm response from critics.

Batman vs. Superman and Wonder Woman

The upcoming 2015 film 'Batman vs. Superman' will officially be introducing Wonder Woman/Diana Prince into the DC film franchise. The iconic character will be featured in a movie for the first time (Lynda Carter played her in the Wonder Woman TV show from 1975-1979), and be played by Gal Gadot (Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6). Much like when Ben Affleck was announced as the new Bruce Wayne/Batman, there has been a lukewarm internet response to the casting, though not quite as much as with Affleck.

Gadot comes from a modeling background rather than an athletic/fitness one. However, she can obviously hit the gym and build up her muscle some more, plus she has been in action films before. Also, the Wonder Woman character comes from another planet and wouldn't need huge muscles to be powerful on Earth. I think people should just wait for the film to come out before judging Affleck & Gadot or the idea of the film as a whole. There still haven't been any pictures or plot released, so for now people should just take a wait and see approach.

The goal is to build to a Justice League movie with numerous other DC superheroes joining the action. You can also expect a solo Wonder Woman movie at some point should 'Batman vs. Superman' be a success...which it probably will be considering you have Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman in a summer action movie together.

'Wonder Woman' Short Takes Web By Storm

Back in the 1970s, Lynda Carter donned the lasso and bullet destroying bracelets in the hit TV show 'Wonder Woman'. Since then all attempts at another live action Wonder Woman have gone into development hell, with animation being the only versions of the character.

A new short film was just released by Rainfall Films, and though it is only 2 minutes and 34 seconds long, it has gone viral to much applause around the web. The short film has a gritty look to it as we see Wonder Woman handle some gun toting baddies on Earth, while flashing back to when she was on her home planet doing battle with some large creature. The best scene of course is when one guy shoots at her and the bullet shatters into nothing on her impenetrable bracelet.
The video is a great representation of what the character should be, and its all in a slick package with pretty awesome visual effects considering the lack of a huge budget. Director Sam Balcomb wrote, "...it’s one hundred and fifty seconds of pure fantasy, where I get to consider the two sides of my favorite warrior: a crusader in man’s world, and a paragon of virtue told through Greek mythology. It’s a fun world to hang out in."

The company is the same one that made an April Fool's video for IGN in 2008, which was a trailer for a fake Legend of Zelda film. The Wonder Woman short is different in that it is just a passionate project which will hopefully spur Warner Bros and DC Comics into bringing the character back to life in live action form. There have been rumors that she will make her debut in the Superman-Batman film starring Ben Affleck & Henry Cavill, but those are just rumors for now. A Justice League movie is in the works that will feature Wonder Woman of course, but that is still at least four years away, maybe more.

Batman Is Back...Already. Ben Affleck, Come On Down!

Incredibly rough sketch of Affleck as Batman
The dark knight just can't stay hidden for long.

Orange is the new black, and former Daredevil Ben Affleck is the new Batman (or Batfleck). 'The Dark Knight Rises' just came out 13 months ago, but Warner Bros. has already found a new Bruce Wayne/Batman to follow Christian Bale. He'll be joining the follow up to 'Man of Steel' which starred Henry Cavill as Superman, a Batman/Superman film which is on schedule to come out in 2015. No word on plot details or any other characters. I'm hoping for a scene where Batman yells "Argo fuck yourself!" at Superman. Doubtful on that happening though. The Internet has been set ablaze since the news, and for some reason many have voiced displeasure...even though the movie hasn't even started filming yet. Geeze people, give Ben a chance.

Christopher Nolan's 'Dark Knight' trilogy drew rave reviews as it sent these famous characters into a realistic setting following the the more fantasy based Batman films of the 1990s. You also have to wonder whether they will soon look to showcase some other recently portrayed Batman characters, like the Joker & Catwoman, which had stand out performances by the late Heath Ledger & Anne Hathaway. It might be a gamble to try and re-create them so soon after two of the biggest movies of all time. Of course they may wait to bring in those characters for a singular Batman film starring Affleck, which is probably on the horizon as well. Another option would be to use characters that weren't in the Nolan films. It would be hard to resist the two most popular ones (Joker & Catwoman) though.

Affleck previously played Daredevil in 2003, which got mixed reviews. The movie gets an unfair bad rap though, especially if you watch the Director's Cut, which featured an entire subplot cut from the film and an R-rating. Jennifer Garner also kicked some major ass as Elektra.

Movies That Should Be Re-Released in 3D

First of all, I'm generally against 3D re-releases since it seems like a big cash-grab, but I do think it makes sense for some films. Jurassic Park was a no-brainer, being one of the biggest films of all time and dinosaurs are pretty much the coolest thing you could see in 3D. Titanic made sense considering the time that went into it to make it perfect, as well as being a massive phenomenon. Animated movies make sense because it is much easier to convert them. The Phantom Menace? No Thanks. Here are a few where I think a 3D conversion could be pretty great, assuming they take the time to do it right.

Twister (1996) - Twister fits the mold of a big-budget blockbuster that was also a pretty great movie you'd want to watch multiple times. The special effects have also stood the test of time much like Jurassic Park. Watching the scene when the cows fly by, or when they drive through the house, or actually get a peek on the inside of the tornado when hanging on the pipes? Yes, please. These scenes are totally implausible in real life, but that is what makes them something you'd want in 3D.

King Kong (2005) - Giant bugs. Dinosaurs. Fighter planes. And let's not forget Kong himself. The details in this film seem like they would really pop out in 3D, King Kong has some of the best CGI you'll see in a film on both Skull Island and in 1930s New York City, which make an obvious candidate. I'm sure the scene with Kong on top of the Empire State Building would make many people get sweaty palms as they watched everything unfold, with Naomi Watts clinging to a falling ladder thousands of feet in the air. And how about when Kong snaps the T-Rex jaw in half? And the whole scene where everyone is surrounded by those giant bugs will make anyone squirm in their seats.

Dawn of the Dead (2004) - Zombies are all the rage right now with The Walking Dead dominating television, so it only makes sense. The earlier films were very low budget, but the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead managed to have a solid budget and a lot of critical praise. Extra tidbit: Ty Burrell has a role in it pre-Modern Family, bringing some much needed comedy to a film that takes place in the zombie apocalypse. Phil Dunphy would certainly approve.

The Matrix (1999) - "Bullet time" would make for quite the experience moving past you in the theatre, not to mention all the green code falling around you. Trinity (Carrie-Ann Moss) performing her famous jumping kick in the opening, coming right at your face. Or how about the helicopter crashing into the side of a building in slow-mo? Keanu Reeves looking stoned a lot is an added bonus as well.

And finally, Batman & Robin (1997). "Let's kick some ice!" Okay, I'm joking about this one. I hope...

Rush Limbaugh Is Insane

Its pretty much always been a given that Rush Limbaugh is insane. Apparently he must be hitting the pills again. He said that the villain Bane (Tom Hardy) in The Dark Knight Rises, is named because of Bain Capital and it's part of a pro-Obama agenda. Anyone who listens to Rush Limbaugh's radio show is a complete moron. Meanwhile, he called the people who will see this movie "Brain-dead".

The character of Bane was first created in 1993; The Dark Knight Rises was written in 2008 & 2009. Apparently the creators time-traveled to 2012 according to Limbaugh. By the way, Limbaugh is increasingly looking like Batman villain Solomon Grundy. I wish Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) would go kick his ass with those steel heels. It wouldn't be hard since he's too fat to run away.

Anyway, Rush Limbaugh is a fuck-face. I'm wondering now if the only reason Limbaugh says these crazy things is to get publicity and tap into the "insane" demographic. Its nice that someone can say stupid things and have a cushy job...I should try it.

In an update, Chris Nolan has commented after being asked about it. Nolan said, "I’m not sure how to address something that bizarre, to be honest. I really don’t have an answer for it. It’s a very particular comment to make." Morgan Freeman also responded, calling it "ridiculous" and saying, "Chris wrote a fictional story that didn’t have any political thoughts in mind, so it’s like art or something you know, it’s all in the mind of the beholder."

And people really need to stop comparing fantasy/action/adventure films with politics in general.

Spoiler-Free Reviews of The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight Rises arrives in theaters this week, and the critical reviews are pouring in. Its safe to say the film is a massive hit with critics as it will be with audiences as well. I'll post some spoiler-free highlights from various critics below, so don't be afraid to read. All the newcomers have been praised, with Anne Hathaway (Catwoman/Selina Kyle) and Tom Hardy (Bane) seemingly nailing their performances as the two main newcomers.

Nolan also leaves a window open for sequels, although not necessarily for Batman and not necessarily for Nolan to direct. Among other possibilities, Anne Hathaway's sensational introduction as Catwoman makes a stand-alone movie for her enticing. Damn, the girl's good in the physical aspects of her cat burglar role, as well as being sexy and funny whether playing Selina Kyle or her feline alter-ego. - Bruce Kirkland, Toronto Sun

With spectacle in abundance and sexiness in (supporting) parts, this is superhero filmmaking on an unprecedented scale. Rises may lack the surprise of Begins or the anarchy of Knight, but it makes up for that in pure emotion. A fitting epitaph for the hero Gotham deserves. 5 Stars out of 5. - Empire Magazine

Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard, recruited for duty after their stints in "Inception," are all on their game here, blending easily in a supporting cast anchored by old pros Caine, Oldman and Freeman. Perhaps the riskiest casting choice was that of Hathaway in the potentially problematic role of Selina/Catwoman, but although her kitty outfit reps a slightly more cartoonish touch than Nolan's neo-noir aesthetic typically allows (if nowhere near as campy as those worn by Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer), the versatile actress nails the sardonic, hard-edged tone necessary to make this morally ambiguous vixen a dynamic foil for the Caped Crusader. - Variety

Talk about a tough act to follow, but “The Dark Knight Rises” doesn’t just follow it; it tops it in almost every way, making it a guaranteed frontrunner for Best Picture. Where most trilogies end on a weak note (witness the likes of “Return of the Jedi” and “Spider-Man 3”), “The Dark Knight Rises” succeeds as an epic triumph that scales the rare heights of “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King,” making it the crowning achievement of the Batman trilogy and the biggest, best, most exciting Batman of them all. - Scott Mantz, Access Hollywood

What brings Batman out of his shell and back into his bat suit? It starts with his attraction to Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway), a cat burglar who teases Bruce wickedly while hiding a secret agenda. Hathaway – sexy, scrappy and fast with put-downs – is dynamite as Catwoman, bringing welcome humor to a movie about to be enveloped in darkness. And no one is darker than Bane (Tom Hardy), a battering ram of a villain, his face covered by a grille that feeds him medicine to alleviate pain he's suffered from childhood. Hardy's face is covered for 99.9 percent of the film, but his physical and vocal performance is riveting. - Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

New Dark Knight Rises Commercial

Anne Hathaway brings it as Selina Kyle/Catwoman with Christian Bale in the latest commercial for The Dark Knight Rises. We're three weeks away from the film's opening on July 20, and they've ramped up the advertising big time.

The new ad shows Catwoman during her time as Bruce Wayne/Batman's ally, watch it below. Bale & Hathaway seem to have great chemistry in the film, which is going to be incredibly important for the success of this film. They both seem to deliver.

They've played up her mysteriousness throughout the past few months, leaving the question of where she'll finish the film - friend or foe? Its anyone's guess, but I'll say she finishes the film as an ally after starting as a semi-villain. A Gotham news article from the Viral Website known as Dew Gotham City talks about a mysterious person in black who committed eight robberies of Gotham's wealthiest in 72 hours, stealing thousands of dollars of jewelry from one person. We know this is obviously Catwoman, who clearly works fast.

Dark Knight Rises Bios

Selina Kyle, Dark Knight Rises
A few more details have been released about The Dark Knight Rises, mainly about Bane (Tom Hardy) & Catwoman/Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway). This post may contain spoilers for some.

A scrapbook has revealed some bios for both Catwoman & Bane. Catwoman's is fairly simple: "SELINA KYLE – is a world-class cat burglar and mistress of disguise. She’s cunning and devious, but has a deep sense of honor. As Catwoman, she targets Gotham’s wealthiest. Her weapons usually include infrared goggles, bladed high-heel boots, and a belt filled with lock picks." Rumors have been circulating and I've been saying that I expect Catwoman/Selina to begin the film stealing from the wealthy people of Gotham to help the poor, also helping Bane. Eventually she realizes how extreme & dangerous Bane is and will switch sides to help Batman (Christian Bale). The commercials seem to point that way. Rumors also say Bruce will reveal himself as Batman to her, helping change her opinion. She'll realize not all rich people are snobs and crooks, when Bruce is risking his life for Gotham. So we'll probably see them fight, flirt, fight again, make out, team up. Just rumors, of course.

Dark Knight RisesBane's goes a little deeper into his backhistory, and mentions the League of Shadows. Which is probably where Liam Neeson returns as Ra's al Ghul in a flashback. "BANE – Little is known about Bane. He was born in prison and trained in the darkest forms of deception by the League of Shadows, but rumor has it he was cast out due to his extreme behavior. Bane is a ferocious hand-to-hand fighter who is willing to do anything in order to take down his opponents. Bane is in peak physical shape, but he must wear a breathing apparatus that feeds him with pain relieving gas due to an old injury. He’s never been photographed without his mask and only a handful of people have seen his face. While his true motives remain a mystery, he appears to be building an army of followers in the dark tunnels underneath Gotham in order to create his own League of Shadows."

The Dark Knight Rises Commercials Hit TV

Commercials for The Dark Knight Rises have begun taking over the airwaves. The ads premiered during the season finales for American Idol and Modern Family, and like everything else related to The Dark Knight Rises, have sent people into a frenzy.

I like the Catwoman themed commercial. The banter between Bruce and Selina is turning out to be top notch. You can clearly see in this ad that she enjoys toying with him, just like Catwoman should. While dancing at the ball Bruce comments that she is wearing a "brazen costume for a cat burglar." She retorts, "yeah? Who are you pretending to be?" I love it already. Later on when Bruce is leaving the party the valet guy says, "your wife said you'd be taking a cab home." A surprised Bruce asks, "My Wife?!" Cut to Selina/Catwoman grinning and driving his prized Lamborghini away. Yes Bruce, she is a brazen cat burglar.

July 20 can't get here soon enough. The film stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and Juno Temple.

Dark Knight Rises Character Posters

We've just gotten six new theatrical posters for The Dark Knight Rises and two promotional posters (aka the ones they sell in Hot Topic/Wal-Mart). The new character theatrical posters give two each to the main characters - Catwoman (Anne Hathaway), Batman (Christian Bale) & Bane (Tom Hardy). One has each character looking bleak with the text "RISE" written above, and rain pelting them. The other poster has more of an action pose for each character, with snow all around them.

I like the difference of the three stormy/rainy posters to the three snowy blue posters. They also clearly show the contrast between the dark & gloomy Dark Knight Rises and The Avengers. Check them all out below and click for larger ones.

The Dark Knight Rises Trailer #3 Is Here!

The third trailer for The Dark Knight Rises has been released (watch it below), and will also be shown before The Avengers.  Good marketing teaming up the two biggest movies of the summer, even though one is from DC and one Marvel. There is enough money to go around, though my bet is on The Dark Knight Rises to top The Avengers. The trailer should give any fan chills. The Bane voice has been boosted and cleared up, so all of the people who said they couldn't understand him no longer have any complaints, he sounds great.

The trailer can be a little spoiler-ish. We see more of Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) this time, and the end of the trailer shows her and Batman (Christian Bale) together in one of his bad-ass vehicles. Looks like the two will be teaming up and kicking some ass, as we see in a brief glimpse of them beating up some thugs on a rooftop together. We also hear her say, "you should be as afraid of him as I am." Presumably she is talking to Bruce about Bane (Tom Hardy). So I still think she may start out alongside Bane until she realizes how crazy he is. They also have a heated conversation, with Catwoman telling him "You don't owe these people anymore. You've given them everything." His response: "Not everything. Not yet." That line certainly leaves his fate up to the imagination. I doubt he dies in the end, but some people seem to think he might. I think Batman will "die"(retire), but not Bruce Wayne.

Favorite line - Catwoman: "My mother warned me about getting into cars with strange men." Batman: "This isn't a car." The tumbler then takes off in the air! July 20 can't get here soon enough. Enjoy!

Michelle Pfeiffer talks Catwoman & Anne Hathaway

Batman Returns, 1992
Michelle Pfeiffer famously played Selina Kyle aka Catwoman in Tim Burton's 1992 blockbuster Batman Returns, my favorite character from the original Batman movies. She did an interview with Empire Magazine for Dark Shadows and discussed Catwoman, as well as her thoughts on Anne Hathaway.

She mentions how Tim Burton wanted to create a Catwoman spinoff film with her after Batman Returns, but that went into development hell when the studio wanted more family friendly films. She says of Hathaway, "Oh I think she's great. I'm actually very much looking forward to seeing her in the role. I'm a big fan of hers and I think she has everything you need for that role. She has the humour, she can go to dark places, she's obviously very talented. I think she's going to be really good." She also says she would have played Catwoman again if Christopher Nolan had hypothetically asked her to in The Dark Knight Rises. Pfeiffer also loved playing such a dark and complex character which attracted her to the role.

Anne Hathaway, The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Tim Burton's films took a fantasy approach compared to the realism of Christopher Nolan's Batman films. In Batman Returns, Catwoman has nine lives and develops her split personality after being pushed out a window. Nolan's Catwoman won't have nine lives, she's more of a street smart criminal true to the comic book character. There's no doubt that both interpretations will continue to be remembered for many years.

Batman & Catwoman Grace Entertainment Weekly Cover

The Dark Knight Rises is just 3 months away, and the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly has a Summer Movie preview featuring Anne Hathaway as Catwoman and Bruce Wayne as Batman on the cover.

This is the first official photo of Catwoman with her goggles pushed back to resemble cat ears. She is described in the magazine by Christopher Nolan as, "a shifty cipher, calloused survivor and world-class criminal. She has a very strong way of protecting herself and those she cares about, which implies an underlying darkness." A photo inside the magazine shows her in front of an empty safe. Stealing, or being set up? Hmm. She is clearly the most complicated and mysterious character in the movie, and I can't wait to see the portrayal.

It looks like the marketing for The Dark Knight Rises will soon kick into gear (hopefully) and we will see more of Catwoman and Bane (Tom Hardy). I recommend picking up the new issue of Entertainment Weekly to see the high-res pictures and for even more information about the movie and other summer films like Snow White & The Huntsman. Dark Knight Rises is going to kick major ass when it comes out on July 20, 2012.

Watch The Dark Knight Rises Trailer!

The official trailer for The Dark Knight Rises starring Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine and Juno Temple (great cast!) has been released online. So watch Batman, Bane and Catwoman here in glorious HD!

I posted a preview before it hit theaters here, but now with the HD version it is even better. Notice the pearls Catwoman/Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway) is wearing in the mirror. They look like the exact same ones Bruce's mom was wearing in Batman Begins. Did she steal them from Wayne Manor? Did Bruce give them to her symbolically? Or just a coincidence and the costume department didn't notice? Guess we'll find out on July 20, 2012.

I'm most looking forward to finding out more about Catwoman/Selina Kyle. She seems to be the most complex and well written character of the film. And with such a rich comic history, plus Christopher Nolan's great job adapting these legendary characters, I'm sure we will all be pleased with the end result. Anne Hathaway nails it in this epic trailer.

Preview of The Dark Knight Rises Trailer!

It's almost here! The first full trailer for The Dark Knight Rises will be released before Sherlock Holmes on Friday December 16th. It probably won't be officially released online until Monday the 19th, but will most certainly pop up around the internet. Don't read if you want to wait until Friday to watch it.

Well, I caught some of the trailer early...and it's epic! They manage to not give away any major plot points and show tons of action. There is one scene that takes place in a packed football stadium, during a football game...let's just say you've never seen anything like it before. (Okay, explosions trigger off and the field collapses behind into the ground as a player is running with the ball.) Bane (Tom Hardy) is the culprit of course.

We get a scene at what looks like some ball/party/masquerade with Selina Kyle/Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) and Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale). She tells him: "you think this will last? There is a storm coming, Mr Wayne. You and your friends better batten down the hatches." She then whispers in his ear, "cause when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us." So it seems as if Catwoman/Selina isn't too fond of Bruce in the beginning. I think she ends up helping him though. But it also makes it sound like Catwoman will in fact start out as a thief, or cat burglar. And maybe she will even agree with Bane until she sees how insane he is, thus joining Batman. Her line also makes it seem like a little "Occupy Wall Street" vibe in the story. (As well as Bane getting the criminals and poor of Gotham to rise against the rich.) This script was written years ago though, but still manages to be very timely. Christopher Nolan must see the future!

I also felt this scene of Selina and Bruce dancing at a masquerade/ball with some tension seems similar to the masquerade scene with the two in 1992's Batman Returns. Maybe they did that as a little callback to that great film.

One final thing, we get a brief glimpse of Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake. I really believe they will actually be playing two League of Shadows members. Marion as Talia al Ghul and Joseph maybe as Black Mask? I can't see those two great actors just playing random Gotham people. I have a feeling Catwoman will take one of these two out while Batman battles with Bane for an epic finale. Just some speculation!

This movie is going to be one of the best of 2012 already.

Barbara Gordon & Dark Knight Rises

Recently a rumor has been going around that Ellen Page is in The Dark Knight Rises and would be playing Barbara Gordon, Commissioner Jim Gordon's (Gary Oldman) daughter, who in the comic books eventually becomes Batgirl. However, this rumor is apparently a fake.

However, the film takes place 8 years after The Dark Knight. We see Barbara Gordon in The Dark Knight at the end with the showdown between Batman, Harvey Dent and Gordon. She looks to be around 10 or 11 years old, so in this film she would probably be around 18/19. So it's somewhat likely she will be in the film and who knows, maybe becomes Batgirl at some point.

It hasn't been confirmed if Barbara Gordon is in the film or not, but Juno Temple is playing a "Street-smart Gotham girl." We don't have a name for her character though...which leads me to believe that she is Barbara Gordon and they are keeping it under wraps, considering the film takes place 8 years after the previous film and she would now be in her late teens. Maybe she has something to do with being trained and taken under the wing by Catwoman while Batman is gone? It's all speculation, but it sure is fun to try and figure out.

Speaking of Catwoman, Anne Hathaway is engaged to Adam Shulman. Congrats! As for Christian Bale, he confirmed that Dark Knight Rises will be the last time he plays Batman.

First Look at Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises

Warner Bros. was forced to release the anticipated first official photograph of Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman from the upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises. They had to because there were leaked shots from the set.

I like this costume, it's pretty tactical and I like the goggles. It's missing the trademark cat ears however, but I'm speculating that they will come later. I'm not sure what's happening in the photo, if Batman gave her the Batpod, or if Catwoman is stealing it. Apparently the photo does take place during the fight between Bane and Batman that was released earlier. I'll assume this is earlier in the film and she is stealing the Batpod. I think she'll eventually join up with Batman and that may be when she gets a "Cat" mask that the goggles will go over, perhaps from Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman). The image is listed under Selina Kyle, so this may be an outfit she uses as Selina. We will surely find out more in the coming months.

Take a look at some previous versions of Catwoman in TV & Film:
Michelle Pfeiffer (1992) -The Best Catwoman, from the film Batman Returns

Lee Meriweather (1966)

Eartha Kitt (1967)
Julie Newmar (1966)
Halle Berry (2004)

The Dark Knight Rises Rumors

The Dark Knight Rises is one of the most anticipated movie sequels ever and rumors are always swirling. Badassdigest.com has some potential spoilers/rumors about what the plot of the film could follow. Here is what Badass Digest says:

"As she herself confirmed, Anne Hathaway will be Catwoman in the movie. I can’t tell you what role she has in the beginning, but by the end of the story Catwoman isn’t a villain but rather an ally of Batman. And who are they teaming up to take out? The League of Shadows. Headed by Talia Al’Ghul. With Bane, who is her muscle/possible love interest. And with Joseph Gordon-Levitt in tow. Is he playing Black Mask? My source didn’t know, but did know that Levitt is certainly an antagonist and involved with the League of Shadows."

It seems to make sense, and this rumor may be right on some basic things, but probably not 100%. It connects the film to the first Christopher Nolan Batman movie. Marion Cotillard will be in it, but her role has not been announced, and all the rumors have pointed to Talia, daughter of the villain from the first Nolan film, Batman Begins. If this isn't true, then it's a pretty good guess. It's worth noting that the website has been correct on certain rumors in the past.
Anne Hathaway is confirmed as Catwoman; Tom Hardy is a villain named Bane
