Kanye West: Douche

Kanye West was at it again at the Grammy Awards, a few years after interrupting his first victim (Taylor Swift). He ran on stage after Beck won for Best Album, only to run back down to his seat. It seemed like a joke at first, by poking fun at himself. Great. Then he goes on E! and starts ranting that it wasn't a joke, saying Beck should give his award to Beyonce and to "respect artistry". Beck responded by saying he thinks Kanye is great and talented. I don't really listen to Beck much, but its nice to see someone so humble & naturally talented win.

Even his wife Kim Kardashian was incredibly uncomfortable during the whole ordeal, forcing a smile. I mean, he made Kim Kardashian uncomfortable on camera. And she did a porn!

Personally, I think Kanye West should heed his own advice to respect artistry and creativity. Its 2015 and he is still overusing Auto-Tune (since he can't sing) 17 years after it was first used by Cher as a gimmick in 1998. Real artistic & original there, Kanye. And what is his obsession with Beyonce? I'm surprised more people don't find it odd, especially Jay Z and Beyonce.

I think Shirley Manson of the band Garbage said it best by writing to him, You are making yourself look like a complete twat.

Kanye West Has Twitter Rant On Jimmy Kimmel

Kanye West posted this Spongebob Meme to his twitter
Kanye West has gone on a twitter rant...which is never a good thing. Okay, its good for a laugh. Jimmy Kimmel aired a spoof of Kanye West's ridiculous interview with Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1, with Kimmel's spoof featuring a kid version of West making fun of the interview. In the actual interview, West called himself the "number 1 rock star on the planet" and compared himself to Michael Jackson & Steve Jobs. Note to West: there are two big guidelines to being the number one Rock Star on the planet: 1 - If you have to call yourself that, you aren't it. Strike one. 2 - You can't use auto-tune. Strike two.

Kimmel, in typical comedic fashion, obliterated West in his monologue. How did he do it? Basically by showing all the tweets and meme's that West posted. Those are the jokes in and of themselves. He also said Kanye called him and told him to publicly apologize for the spoof (note: he didn't). Here are some of West's insane tweets:

JIMMY KIMMEL IS OUT OF LINE TO TRY AND SPOOF IN ANY WAY THE FIRST PIECE OF HONEST MEDIA IN YEARS

YOU CAN'T PUT YOURSELF IN MY SHOES. YOUR FACE LOOKS CRAZY… IS THAT FUNNY?… OR IF I HAD A KID SAY IT WOULD IT BE FUNNY???

SHOULD I DO A SPOOF ABOUT YOUR FACE OR YOU FUCKING BEN AFFLECK…#NODISRESPECTTOBENAFFLECK #ALLDISRESPECTTOJIMMYKIMMEL!!!!

SARAH SILVERMAN IS A THOUSAND TIMES FUNNIER THAN YOU AND THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS IT!!!

I feel bad for his keyboard. He's probably just looking for attention, as he usually is. Knocking up Kim Kardashian wasn't enough?

Kate Middleton Has The Royal Baby

So the Royal Baby was born to Kate Middleton and Prince William, and it's a boy. He wasn't born with a lightning bolt scar on his forehead, so my interest level waned very quickly from "mildly curious" to "who cares I just want some fish and chips."

The real star of the day however was the Royal Town Crier, whose name is Tony Appleton. He announced the birth in a fierce outfit. His shouting of the announcement made me worried that he would pop a blood vessel. Easy does it next time, no need to strain yourself, we all have twitter now.

Now please don't follow the Kanye West/Kim Kardashian model for naming a baby.

12-12-12 Concert Rocks the Garden

The 121212 Concert rocked Madison Square Garden last night, as well as maybe 2 billion people watching around the world.

- As expected there was the fusion of The Beatles and Nirvana, when Paul McCartney teamed up with Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear to perform a rocking new song called "Cut Me Some Slack". The song was written in just one day, and it sounded a bit like a cross between The Beatles' "Helter Skelter", which Paul opened with, and Nirvana's "Breed". It was definitely a great moment to watch. And you could hear Dave Grohl comment after while leaving the stage, "that was fucking awesome!" We all agree! McCartney had the set of the night, and is still trending on twitter as I write this. Definitely some unexpected songs thrown in.

- McCartney brought out a bunch of the heroes of Hurricane Sandy and then Alicia Keys performed "Empire State of Mind" with all of them on stage, which was a perfect way to cap off the excellent show. Keys also provided the "lighter moment" of the night during her earlier set, only with cell phones instead of lighters of course. Loved seeing MSG glowing all around her.

- Chris Martin of Coldplay had the joke of the night, saying "I know you wanted One Direction but its way past their bedtime, so that's why you get one quarter of Coldplay." He also brought out Michael Stipe of R.E.M.

- Kanye West wore a leather skirt. Maybe he borrowed it from Kim Kardashian's closet?

- The Rolling Stones had a quick two song set, though they were added at the last minute, and have another show on their tour tonight. Mick Jagger must have made people watching who are 30 years younger feel bad about themselves for not being able to move as good as he can. He certainly showed what the "moves like Jagger" really are.

-New Jersey's own Bruce Springsteen of course, with Bon Jovi a couple sets after. Jon joined Springsteen during his set, and Bruce joined Bon Jovi during theirs much to the delight of the crowd. Billy Joel also got one of the biggest reactions of the night.

-Howard Stern fans rejoice, It wouldn't be a New York show without a "Baba Booey!" shout making it through, which happened during Billy Crystal's speech.

-Roger Waters and Eddie Vedder did a fine job performing some Pink Floyd classics. The Who also performed a long set, and sounded much better than they did at the Super Bowl a few years ago.

You can pre-order the live album on iTunes or wait for it to come out on CD everywhere. All proceeds go to the Robin Hood Foundation.

HBO's Hard Knocks returns in 2012

The popular and award winning HBO series Hard Knocks, which takes an inside look at an NFL training camp, will return and head to South Beach in 2012 with the Miami Dolphins. It was canceled in 2011 due to the NFL lockout causing a shortened camp. The show will premiere on Tuesday, August 7th.

This was a necessary move for the Miami Dolphins. One of the NFL's most popular and successful teams, they've fallen on hard times lately and ticket sales have started to suffer. From 1970 to 2003 they only suffered two losing seasons and had more wins than any other NFL franchise, including the only perfect season in pro sports. But from 2004 to 2011 they only had two winning seasons and one playoff appearance. Now they've got a new attitude after the failed Bill Parcells era, and hope to return to former glory. During the Parcells era the franchise was silent and anonymous, and would have never done something like Hard Knocks, which is why this is so important. They need to win back the trust of the fans. Of course, a return to being a winning playoff franchise will be the only way to truly do that, but this should help.

They just drafted quarterback Ryan Tannehill (and his much buzzed about wife Lauren Tannehill). The franchise has not had a star quarterback since Dan Marino, who retired in 2000. While Tannehill probably won't do much in 2012, since most rookies don't just burst onto the scene like Marino did, they will be able to introduce him and their new coaching staff to the fans, giving hope for the future. Here's some info from the official press release:

“We are delighted that HARD KNOCKS will be returning this summer and placing the spotlight on the Miami Dolphins, a venerable franchise that had an exciting off-season activity,” says Ken Hershman, president, HBO Sports. “This marks the first time that the series has featured a first-year head coach (Joe Philbin) and we are extremely grateful to both Coach Philbin and the entire organization for agreeing to participate. As always, there will be plenty on the line for veterans, free agents and rookies.”

“On the 40th anniversary of the greatest season in NFL history–Don Shula’s perfect ’72 Dolphins– it is perfectly fitting that Hard Knocks is heading to Miami to capture the start of a new era for one of the league’s proudest teams,” says NFL Films president Steve Sabol. “After Hard Knocks’ hiatus last summer, I know our team at NFL Films can’t wait to get back on the field.”

Let's hope this is one reality show Kim Kardashian stays away from. Unless we get a duel between Reggie Bush and Kanye West.

Where Might the Next NASA Satellite Land?

If you haven't heard by now, that falling NASA Satellite landed in the Pacific Ocean a few weeks ago. It got me thinking...where might the next falling satellite land? I have some theories. Maybe Las Vegas will start taking bets.

1. The Kardashian House. I actually think they may arrange for this to happen. Think of the publicity they will get! Reports all around the house, NASA coming to collect it. It won't be for a while though. This will come after the inevitable highly publicized divorce between Kim Kardashian and NBA star Kris Humphries. (Oh you know it's bound to happen.)

2. Onto the body of Osama Bin Laden at the bottom of the ocean. The ocean is always the most likely place for it to land, since it's so big. So, when it sinks to the bottom, maybe it will land on top of Bin Laden's body. Or possibly a shipwreck. Hopefully not the Titanic. If it's between Bin Laden and the Titanic, it lands on Bin Laden. Nobody would be upset with that. Oh, and speaking of the Titanic, will Titanic 3D be the last 3D re-release that actually makes good money? The Lion King 3D has made a ton at the Box Office, but people will eventually get tired of all these expensive 3D re-releases. Back to falling satellites...

3. Oprah's backyard. She OWNs (see what I did there?!?) everything else, why not an old satellite?

4. Onto a Glacier. Glacier's seem to be taking a beating lately.

5. Into Cowboys Stadium in Dallas. That's what you get for building such an over-the-top stadium! (Though it does look cool.)

6. On top of Casey Anthony. I'm not sure people would care about this one. We know Nancy Grace wouldn't! She would throw the biggest party known to mankind.
